Salmon Farming

This video shows the effects of Salmon farming on the Commercial Salmon fishing industry of Alaska as well as the pollution problems that occur with this aquaculture in Chile.  This is a very objective piece.  You should realize that what is happening on the ocean bottom was very similar to what occurred in Big Spring because of the hatchery. Hatchery pollution and aquaculture problems are a world wide problem.  The simple fact that the PFBC still argues "habitat" can only make you wonder about their competence and integrity in any situation. Aquaculture problems are complex and not easily solved because they furnish food for the populations. However, the argument by many members of the political administrations including Bush and friends argue that these fish genetically are the same as wild populations.  Furthermore, they acutally wish to include them in counts claiming whether something is endangered or not.

This is getting scarier by the day. This is the equivelent of counting animals in zoos and saying, " I told you these creatures weren't endangered!"
